Rapid Vehicle Transformation for Postcode Lottery
A time-critical project saw Finch Signs, based near Northampton, deliver a full truck and trailer wrap promoting the UK’s Postcode Lottery. The vehicle was required as a high-impact mobile advertising platform, with a bold red livery applied across both cab and trailer to support a new promotional campaign.
Challenge
The project combined tight turnaround demands with complex application requirements. The supplied truck arrived in an existing white and blue livery, all of which needed to be fully concealed, including the roof. In addition, the supplied artwork required adjustment to ensure it would translate effectively across the contours and scale of both the cab and trailer. Speed, finish quality and consistency across different materials were critical.
Solution
Finch Signs’ team edited the design to optimise it for vehicle wrapping and delivered a coordinated material approach across the unit. The trailer was fully wrapped using Metamark MM-CC, providing a solid red base. Graphical elements were produced separately, cut from Metamark 7 Series SignVinyl and applied over the wrap. For the cab, MetaCast® MDC XR™ was selected to achieve a complete wrap with high-quality printed detail. The printed finish was carefully colour-matched to the MM-CC film on the trailer, ensuring a consistent appearance across the entire vehicle. The MDC XR’s repositionable adhesive supported faster, more controlled application, reducing the likelihood of errors during installation.
Result
The project was completed within a very tight timeframe, supported by the handling performance of the materials and Finch Signs’ efficient production workflow. The finished vehicle delivered a bold, cohesive promotional presence, meeting the client’s expectations for both visual impact and quality. Feedback from Finch Signs highlighted the ease of application of MDC XR, particularly its contribution to faster, more reliable installation. The flexibility of the solution was further demonstrated when the vehicle later returned for re-use: the applied graphics were removed cleanly, leaving the MM-CC base wrap intact and ready for a new campaign.
