There's a lot of unadorned surfaces out there and most could use some improvement. TWF Signs and Graphics recently engaged with one such design and application challenge and the results represent a really attractive transformation...
Go South Coast, a regional transport operator in Dorset, turned to Wimborne based TWF Signs and Graphics to add a splash of colour to a bus station that was rented from a local council. TWF was invited to submit concepts that would transform some rather unremarkable concrete pillars into colourful sticks of rock reflecting a seaside atmosphere and generally cheering up the environment.
Once designs were reviewed and approved, the means to actually deliver them in a practical form were explored. A number of materials were auditioned for the job and Metamark MD5-H, a specialised version of Metamark's flagship digital media with an adhesive system formulated for challenging surfaces was chosen.
TWF printed its designs and the results are every bit as colourful as the design intent. Deeply saturated, larger-than-life colour provides a startling contrast with the expanse of weather grey it covers. Flawless application complete the job.
The client is absolutely delighted with the work undertaken by TWF and the plan is to change the graphics periodically to reflect the prevailing season. TWF has demonstrated that design and the execution delivering it can find a home for digital print in the most unexpected places. Its work has not only demonstrated its prowess in digital print and design generally, but has actually grown the market for both.
Public spaces and places represent a fertile market where creative application like TWF's work for Go South Coast can deliver improvements. Parts of the man-made horizon around us all are practically asking to be put to better use. Council owned assets could promote local causes, or better reflect environment and commercial application. If in doubt, just speak to TWF Signs and Graphics in Wimborne.
