Cornwall Signs Delivers A Distinctive Mobile Bar Wrap

When Vee Dub Pub wanted its converted Volkswagen mobile bar to stand out at weddings, festivals and hospitality events, the answer lay in transforming a family painting into a full vehicle wrap. The result delivered a striking visual identity with the appearance of physical texture and handpainted craftsmanship.

Challenge
Vee Dub Pub operates a mobile bar based on a converted Volkswagen vehicle, serving customers at events across the South West and beyond. The business wanted a finish that turned heads with its personality, while creating strong visual impact in busy event environments. The challenge was to reproduce the character and detail of an original family painting across the vehicle’s complex bodywork, while maintaining image quality, throughout the installation process, and durability long after.

Solution
Cornwall Sign delivered the project using a high-resolution digital reproduction of the original artwork supplied by the customer. The image was carefully adapted to fit the vehicle’s contours, creating the illusion of a textured painted surface despite the wrap remaining completely smooth to the touch. The graphics were produced using MetaCast® MDC XR ™ wrapping film. Although it was the team’s first experience with the material, installers reported straightforward application and reliable performance, even on an older vehicle where paint condition and body details can present additional challenges.

Result
The finished vehicle presents a distinctive and highly memorable appearance that captures the character of the original artwork while functioning as a mobile marketing asset. The wrap creates a convincing textured effect that draws attention and invites closer inspection. The use of 1600mm wide MDC XR also enabled larger graphic sections to be produced in single pieces, reducing joins, minimising material waste and helping to streamline production and installation.
