Madame Tussauds is among Blackpool's most popular attractions and is sought out by visitors to the town. Step inside and the transformation is total. Stars of stage, film and TV screen rub shoulders with family favourites, comedians and sporting stars. Recently, Marvel Comic's characters who've made the leap from the printed page to the cinema have found another life in wax and now form a new part of the attraction that's pulling in the visitors.
Links Signs and Graphics is no stranger to Madam Tussauds having supplied the attraction with groundbreaking murals for the attraction's sets for years. The most recent input from the Links Sign and Graphics though effectively extended the marketing and point of sale reach of the attraction beyond its own facade to the kerbside.
Links Signs and Graphics supplied novel “bollard wraps†which promoted the attraction's contents. The wraps were made from 4mm corrugated sheeting cut and scored on a Zund digital cutter so as to form slip over covers for a row of bollards. The covers were, in turn, wrapped with Metamark MD5 printed with promotion material. The effect achieves real stand-out for Madame Tussauds and is plainly visible to the motor and pedestrian traffic.
Bollards are part of the man-made landscape and, as proved by Links Signs and Graphics, can be pressed to purposes other than traffic management. Frequently demarcating pedestrian zones, they can be turned into potent and productive advertising spaces.
More groundbreaking work from Links Signs and Graphic. More to come no doubt.
