Spare a thought for freight forwarders. They do a difficult job at the best of times but trying to make commercial sense of the current situation the world finds itself in only adds to the challenges. 

 

Newark based Orbis has been in the freight forwarding business long enough to know its way around and to have built an enviable portfolio of clients who return time and again. It’s thanks to Orbis, that its clientele can promote their various interests in far-flung markets by attending missions and exhibitions abroad. They can do so, safe in the knowledge that all the formalities involved in handling exhibits and customs will be taken care of. 

 

When Orbis needed some signage for its Newark offices, it only had to go as far as Lincoln to get what it needed. It found its way to Venture Signs’ door where Keith, Pete and the Venture Signs’ operate a very highly regarded hive of creativity.

 

Orbis wanted, among other things, a wall mounted interpretation of its logo and branding. The logo relies for the effect it communicates upon high quality print to imply depth and dimension. Thanks to Venture Signs’ skills, that’s exactly what any observer infers with just a glance at its work.

 

The sign is fashioned from 15 mm thick acrylic with a black finish. This gives the letters, a substantial dimensional feel which is further accentuated by the distance the mounting spaces the lettering from the wall. The mounting locators are of course hidden from view.

 

The logo element of the install sign is again formed from a 15 mm block of acrylic, cut to shape. Its surface is decorated with the print of the Orbis logo. The depth and dimension implied within the print, and the 3-D cues signalled by the physical thickness of the acrylic together pull off a very effective illusion. It’s a great logo and Venture Signs’ work does it full justice.

 

The printed elements of the sign were produced using Metamark MD5. MD5 and Venture Signs have a great relationship and many jobs the company has done using it represent a lasting record to the quality the Venture Signs’ team achieve. Orbis, is another.

 

Venture Signs casts itself in the role of a signs and graphics manufacturing generalist, but it really excels in producing signs across a wide range of applications that others might claim as specialisations. Its work in the education sector, architectural signage, and window graphics in particular all reflects deep experience and an ability to see things through the customer’s lens.
