Metamark’s continuing commitment to its ESG initiatives has again been demonstrated with the company having donated £10,000 to Teenage Cancer Trust. This national charity offers care and support designed expressly for young people with cancer, helping them maintain or regain independence and to meet other young people living with a cancer diagnosis.

The charity was founded in the early 1990s and has since become a much-admired global leader in its field, with its care delivery model respected the world over as it transforms the lives of thousands. Metamark elected to make its contribution to Teenage Cancer Trust because the charity’s aims and Metamark’s own goals for its ESG initiatives align on many fronts. 

Metamark’s CEO, Phil Wild said, “It’s an absolute pleasure to make this donation to Teenage Cancer Trust knowing the charity’s very capable team will apply it to their deserving and worthwhile cause. It will benefit the young in particular and help bring a measure of relief those diagnosed with cancer and their families. I’m delighted that Metamark is able to help the charity deliver its support.”

Emma Cross, Senior Relationship Manager, North West, and Cumbria at Teenage Caner Trust adds, “Hearing those three words, ‘you have cancer’ can throw a young person’s world into chaos and uncertainty. Without Teenage Cancer Trust’s specialist care, young people risk facing cancer feeling isolated, alone and without the emotional and practical support they need through their cancer experience.

“We are so very thankful to Metamark for their recent generous donation. This essential support helps make sure specialised Teenage Cancer Trust nurses, support teams, and hospital units are there for young people, throughout their cancer treatment and beyond. We couldn’t do any of this without support from local businesses and our communities. It’s only thanks to donations from our supporters that we can continue to be there for every young person who needs us. From all of us at Teenage Cancer Trust, a heartfelt thank you.”

The North West was the first area in which the trust was able to pilot and launch an essential nursing and outreach support service and this enables teams working regionally to support young people and their families in local hospitals or at home. As well as providing the best clinical care this further supports young people enabling them to live their lives.
