Fret-cut detailing and Perspex lettering are no strangers to fascia signing in general but are comparatively rare when the subject is focused on smaller signs. That’s not a convention that was going to stop the team at City Signs Midlands putting together a really attractive fabricated sign for its client Lance Brokers.

Lance are located within a prestige enterprise centre that’s no stranger to City Signs as the company had undertaken lots of signing projects there and has something of a reputation for living up to the centre’s standards in terms of quality. The park’s owners had no hesitation introducing Lance to City Signs.

The sign in question is less than a metre square but it’s made along the lines of a top-drawer fascia rather than going the conventional route and being a flat sheet of material with applied lettering and graphics. Instead, the sign that City Signs delivered to its appreciative client is a more dimensional and involving affair.

The first thing that impacts the observer is, ‘the sign.’ The whole plot instantly registers as being the product of cohesive design and construction. The main body of the sign comprises a pan fabricated from Butler Finished Dibond with folded returns. The brushed finish radiates quality and durability. The lettering is cut from Perspex and affixed to the pan with stand-off locators providing a further depth cue that works with the dimensional aspect of the pan. The logo is cut, by hand, from Dibond and affixed again with stand-off locators.

The coloured detailing provided to the logo is easily mistaken for enamel or paint. It is in fact printed and contour-cut Metamark MD3. It works and it works brilliantly. The printed MD3 detailing breaks up the monochromatic expanse of the panel and its dimensional lettering and leads the eye. It finishes a very complete sign. A sign that does more than simply locate the business. It radiates an impression of durable quality too.

City Signs Midlands has a very experienced crew and knows how to put a sign together. Its work for Lance Brokers shows that it’s more than capable of pulling something just a little unorthodox out of the bag when it’s needed. The Lance Brokers sign is going to last and its quality isn’t going to fade either.
