Rochdale Signs’s label division’s work ends up doing its job in some of the furthest corners of the world - labels to Taiwan, anyone?

Rochdale Signs was founded over fifty years ago by Bert Powell and is now continuing its successful operations with a third generation involved and providing signage in the locality and, as it now happens, WAY beyond.

The company is very public with it operation’s ethos: To Provide The Best Prints, On The Best Materials Available, At An Affordable Price and With Fast Service. It’s clearly working for the Rochdale based company and for its customers, and we’re proud to be a supplier knowing that the teams at Rochdale Signs and its subsidiary are pretty discerning when choosing materials.

Safety-Label is a part of The Rochdale Signs Group, and its founders are grandchildren of Bert, Chris, and Lewis Molloy - ‘they’re doing a fantastic job,’ Says Bert. Fact is, Safety-Label’s vintage and its legacy, makes it one of the longest established specialist label businesses in the region and even the whole of the UK.

Its service-led business ethics and obsessive approach to quality have seen the company servicing the need for statutory labelling from customers quite literally around the world. Labels may have a very modest per-unit price but the cost of not having them can be monumental. Consider for example, a highly specialised vehicle that can’t leave its shipping dock and be delivered to its customer for the want of a label required by law in its destination.

Make no mistake - labelling is critically important.

Safety-label makes and delivers from its web-shop a bewildering range of standard labelling products. It deals with labels featuring variable data. It also produces custom labelling. When the label that’s needed isn’t on the shelves - anywhere, it’s safety labels that gets the call, makes the label, and ships it.

Metamark is driven by a similar ethic to our customer in this case. We make sure our products are available where and when needed and at prices our customers are happy to pay. We make sure what we sell can be trusted to perform too. Safety Label comes to us for a variety of material and we’re there, and so is the stock, when we’re both needed.

Thanks to Safety Label our materials end up on some strange thing and in some far-flung places. One batch of MD5 that came off our production line in Lancaster, found its way to Safety Label and is now printed, cut and on its way to a customer in Taiwan. We can’t tell you who it’s for, or quite what the application is. Suffice it to say, given a whole world of options, the customer came to Rochdale, and to Safety Label.
