Elite Signs and Graphics creative design fits an odd vehicle like a glove…

Elite Signs and Graphics could claim a position in the avant-garde of companies that have made vehicle graphics a specialisation. Along with a few other notables, the company’s creatives helped take livery design to new ground by incorporating huge sweeps of very dynamic design elements in their work, ignoring confining factors like panel boundaries. More than one driver of a vehicle given the Elite treatment has been stopped and asked, ‘where’d you get your ‘signwriting’ done?” 

Materials have to a great extent enabled Elite’s inclination to progressive design. The company is a long-term customer of Metamark’s and a great exponent that really puts what we make through its paces. Interestingly, Elite has demonstrated that’s its technical people are pretty adept at using the right material for the application demands it meets on a given vehicle. So, it’s not unusual to see livery work that’s a mixture of say, MD5 and MDC with the print output managed to achieve a consistent result.

Not everything that rocks up at Elite’s door is a perfect fit-for-formula job. A twofold challenge rumbled into view recently from a local client who has built a very successful business making available for hire, among other things, road-sweepers. These vehicles are deep in the ‘utility’ cohort and bristle with odd-shaped components and panels required to do their job. For Elite to do it, a livery ID was needed that promoted the client’s brand in a memorable way and that fitted the odd-shaped vehicle well.

You’d have to look into the fields of fictional fantasy and computer gaming to find something that looks like the foundation of a design idea for what Elite’s creatives proposed to its client. The graphics depict a dragon, and it’s rendered as though it’s clawing it way out of the vehicle’s waste containment ‘tank’ in a blur of claws and torn metal. Worked into the design is the client-branding and the whole thing, applied as it is to a far from usual vehicle, looks like a bit of a head-turner.

MetaCast MDC, that’s Metamark’s premium, MD-Class cast wrapping film, got the job of turning vision to reality and it’s the usual Elite story of flawless print and meticulous application that makes the livery the visual event it so clearly is. The client is delighted.

Hardworking vehicles like sweepers pick up a bit of battle-rash in the course of a working day so the MDC print is protected with Metamark’s matching cast laminate - that’s adds a bit of pop to Elite’s potent printing and protects the print. 

Vehicle like the one’s in the sweeper fleet are a comparative rarity in Elite’s day but rising to occasion isn’t. Customers return time and again for repeats, repairs and new work that needs a special touch. Elite is more than happy to oblige.
