‘Elevate Your Brand’ are three powerful words belonging to Fusion Signage and Displays’ customer Black Mountain itself, based in Ross-on-Wye. The company is a specialist in personalised workwear and uniform and it services the needs of businesses with thousands to clothes and yet still manages to look after one-man-bands with equally attractive service and product offerings. 

Black Mountain takes its offering on the road on occasions and now finds itself among the legions of others who are using the VW Transporter platform for mobility. It’s a great vehicle but when it has a selling job to do, it needs to stand out - for all the right reasons of course.

Black Mountain sought out the services of another company that’s part of the signs and graphics business establishment in Herefordshire and beyond, Fusion Signage and Displays. When your job, as Black Mountain sees it, is to elevate others’ brands, you need to do a particularly good job of promoting your own. So the company went, proposed design in hand, to get the VW suitably dressed in its own workwear in the shape of an adverting livery.

Fusion is no stranger to very demanding jobs and prides itself on delivering work that other might be reluctant to undertake due to creative or technical challenges. The look that Black Mountain wanted was evocative of contour lines flowing over the surface of the vehicle and stamped with its own very simple, but highly legible logo.

The job clearly presents challenges making it out of the 2D world that most visualise and onto the 3D surface of the vehicle. With flowing lines keeping score and pointing out every little alignment error, this one had to be spot-on.

The Fusion team did what it does best and managed each and every trap brilliantly. The printing is great. The application is expert in the extreme. The overall impact is stunning regardless of whether you see it through livery experts’ eyes or simply appreciate it as a work of advertising art.

Black Mountain now has a vehicle that fully discharges its duty to elevate a brand and Fusion can claim another success in its bespoke graphics portfolio. It looks just as good from inches away as it does at a distance.
