D-Sign Studio, based in Milford Haven, produces a novel MetaWrap MD-X livery for Pembrokeshire Bouncy Castles - It’s different…

A bouncy castle business, seeking to promote itself, needs a look and feel that’s bouncy too. That’s exactly what Pembrokeshire Bouncy Castles got when it took its newest van to Jonathan Dudley and the team at Milford Haven based D-Sign Studio looking for a promotional livery.

The lettering across the top of the vehicle is resonant of something inflatable and is rendered with a very subtle shadow that makes it almost float off the vehicle’s flanks. It was applied as a separate component of the livery in addition to a larger area featuring both the castle and the kids beaming out of the design. Approaching the design and construction in this way would normal involve sticking a contour cut white print on a white van - the result, inevitably, is a contrast between the white of the print substrate and the white of the vehicle. Totally wrapping the van would fix that, but on this occasion, D-Sign went another way.

Rather than print on white material, the D-Sign Studio team printed on Metamark MetaWrap MD-X’s mechanically matched MetaGuard MG-X laminate, a clear material obviously, and then laminated that print with another layer of the same material. The moment it was applied to the van, the white background was ‘restored,’ the colours popped, and the client got a durable, attractive result that’s notable because it doesn’t have a contrasting white halo. That’s different.

Pembrokeshire Bouncy Castles now has a powerful promo-on-wheels and can be sure that its castles, rodeo bulls and marquees all get some air-time when the vehicle is on site or on its way to an assignment. The company’s emerging Virtual Reality service gets a mention too.

D-Sign Studio has done a great job for its client and delivered a very creative solution. The design does the job that’s needed. The printing is top-notch too. The construction is both creative and practical.
