It doesn’t seem like a year since I last composed a Metamark update but, a timely reminder that this one is due confirms it. Let me start by personally thanking you for trusting Metamark to supply your material needs in the year past, and wishing you a happy and prosperous 2022. 

 

The world’s affairs in general means it would be odd to consider the coming year without acknowledging the one just past as being among the most challenging that most of us will have known. Thank you for bearing with us through very difficult times. As we look ahead, we recognise there are still challenges that we all have to beat, together, I am confident we’ll do that.

 

Chief among our priorities this year is making sure we can supply you the materials you need despite raw material shortages, logistical issues and inflationary pressure - consequences of world-wide disruptions. 

 

Pressure on raw material supplies mean that we might occasionally need to depart from our specifications and presentation to keep products flowing to you. In practical terms that means you may, for example, see a plain liner that was once printed. Rest assured, it’ll be the same liner, or a better one, and the product is still 100% ‘Metamark.’

 

Raw materials are not the only things subject to disruptions in availability - people are too. That may mean products that leave us on time when ordered occasionally find themselves held up for want of a driver to bring them to your door. We’re working closely with our transport suppliers to minimise this of course.

 

Taken in sum, shortages and inflationary pressures in the economy more generally may mean price reviews. We’re working as hard as we ever have to keep what we have to pass along to a minimum.    

 

An exciting development that’s met with a very enthusiastic welcome is the launch of our MetaStream programme. It’s a Metamark process that recycles retired vinyl signs and graphics into useful articles that can themselves be recycled time and again. Technical constraints mean it’s for volume users at the moment. We’re working on making MetaStream even more accessible though and we’re using it ourselves as we move toward sending no manufacturing waste to landfill. The great news is, MetaStream works with familiar Metamark materials. ‘PVC Freed’ is a good way to think of it. Large fleets are using Metamark materials because of it and it made news at the COP26 event too.

 

Great products, technical leadership and class-leading value tell a great story with ‘Metamark’ at the centre of it. That story has universal appeal and it’s among the reasons that Metamark is now doing business in more countries around the world than at any time in its history. I’d like to thank the wonderful network of distribution partners working to deliver Metamark globally and helping us keep moving forward.
